Whoever said in-laws were the worst clearly never met The Donnelly’s. Their love for nature is apparent in everything they do and in how they live their lives day in and day out, and the same can be said for their vacations. We had the pleasure of hosting Tim, Judy, Keegan, and Jack for five days this May, primarily based around Hood River and the trails that Ian and I oftentimes spend our weekends exploring. From biking and hiking to golfing and fishing, we managed to keep our guests smiling and sweaty nearly the entire time – and yes, Uncle Jack did take a few falls during the festivities but I doubt it will be enough to keep him from jumping back in the saddle again next time he flies north.
After Jack headed home on Sunday afternoon, the remaining gang loaded up the rental SUV and embarked to one of Central Oregon’s premier attractions and a nationally-known fishing locale: the Deschutes River. The boys took to the water while Judy, Jossi and I roamed the surrounding area. Here’s a taste of what a good day on the Deschutes with The Donnelly’s looks like. I think these photos do an even better job of touting just how cool this family is than my words would ever be able to. Enjoy!
